Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Rainbow Alliance?

Rainbow is a club devoted to supporting students as they integrate their sexual orientation and gender identity into their personhood. Our club is comprised of LGBTQ++ members and straight allies.

Q: But I’m not Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender/Queer++!

Many of our members and even e-board members are straight allies! Everyone is welcome to come to the meetings and participate in our events. The purpose of our club is to promote diversity and acceptance here on campus.

Q: What is a typical meeting like?

Meetings normally include discussions and workshops about issues affecting the LGBTQ/Ally community on national, campus, and personal levels. We try to create an open, social space where all students feel free to be themselves, while at the same time organizing around and reflecting on LGBTQ activism.

Q: I may not feel comfortable.

That’s understandable, but please know that everything said in our meetings is confidential. We never push members to speak up. We strive to foster an open and welcoming atmosphere where you can say as much or as little as you’d like.
